WASHINGTON: US Congress has attempted to stop 50-crore-dollar-aid to Pakistan. US Congress has once again demanded of Pakistan to release Dr Shakeel Afridi and has put stress on saying that the 50-crore-dollar-aid be banned for Pakistan. According to British media, the US secretary of state John Kerry presented himself in the House of Representatives in order to answer the questions of the members.
According to the media, a member representing California said on the occasion that the person who helped America in arresting Osama Ben Ladin had been imprisoned in Pakistan. He said that in spite of that fact, the administration was thinking to pay 50-crore-dollar-aid to Pakistan who had slapped us by putting Shakeel Afridi in the prison.
The US secretary of state, John Kerry replied that he had raised that matter before the ex-president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and the present Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He added that the solution of that matter could only be found out by constant talks in diplomatic ways.
It is pertinent to mention here that the US Congress had put a condition in the last budget unless Pakistan had released Shakeel Afridi, 3 crore and 30 lakhs dollars aid should have been stopped to pay to Pakistan.
