Scientists have successfully created a patch from crab’s shell which will solve the heart problems which occur after heart attacks. A heart attack affects the electrical signals of heart which results in inability of heart to pump blood all over the body properly.
[junkie-alert style=”green”] The new designed patch can be attached to heart without any stitches which will improve the heart electrical pulses removing the problems of heart attack. It is a significant success knowing that millions of people around the world are suffering from heart failures. [/junkie-alert]
The research was done by scientists at Imperial College London and the University of New South Wales (UNSW). The research is published in scientific journal Science Advances.
This patch is created from components including Chitosan which can be found in crabs shells. The patch treatment has been tested on rats and the results were satisfactory and now the researchers will use it on heart tissues taken from human hearts which were removed in heart transplants.
