The launch was held at the new central police office building which was attended by the chief guest, Abdul Sattar Edhi. Ghulam Qadir, chief of Karachi Police stated that this step was taken in the view of the complaints at the police stations that the officials present over there were avoiding lodging FIRs due to various reasons.
This service will allow the citizens to lodge complaints ranging from robbery to murders and kidnapping and extortions. The citizens will have to log on to karachipolice.gov.pk to lodge their complaints against crimes in Karachi. The people could also call at the helpline 021-99225500 or send a text message to 0300-8293335 in order to ascertain that their complaints have been received and FIRs have been lodged.
