Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif initiated the campaign against dengue fever and said that people should fight with dengue virus instead of scaring from it. He said that every person of the society should cooperate with the government and clean water from open areas, adding that investigation of deaths due to dengue virus is in progress and the public would be informed about these investigations, either the deaths were caused by dengue or other reasons were also involved in these deaths.
This he said while talking to media after initiating the campaign against dengue. He said that is the responsibility of everybody to clean the water form open areas, adding that it is responsibility of households, officials, industrialists, political workers and assembly members and ministers to clean water, adding that unless we cannot clean the water it would continue posing threat for the people.
Shahbaz ensured that with the help of nation and civil society we would control the dengue virus, adding that he requests the TV channels and newspapers to focus on dengue and point out the loopholes.
He also appealed the media that the if it could not appreciate the his and his aides efforts against the dengue but should pay regard to the services of doctors, young doctors and nurses making against the dengue day and night, adding that if we cannot pay regards to the services of Sri Lankan doctors then we hurt them.
He asked to the media to present facts and figures in balances way and pay regard to the services of doctors, whom save many lives.
He said that distribution of 0.5 kits has been started against dengue virus, adding that kits composed of precautionary medicines against dengue and all the people should help distribute these precautionary kits in masses.
He said that a lot of machinery reached in hospitals, adding medicine is being exporting from India; meanwhile Shahbaz gave courage to the people that government is working day and night against dengue. He said that the dengue virus with the help of Allah Almighty would be defeated and government would continue the programme of progress. (SANA)
