London: Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism (RISJ) at the Oxford University invites applications from mid-career journalists on fellowship basis, Awamiweb sources have reported. Applicants can apply for the fellowship program before 31 January. The fellowship program is based on the duration of three, six or nine months. The applicants would be covering one, two or three terms of the academic year. Joining for the program can be made in the month of January and April or October the following year.
RISJ requires its participants to produce a good, comprehensive research paper with word count ranging between 8,000-10,000. The research paper may be designed with the collaborative use of multimedia, to make it a worth publishable material. The research findings are also to be presented at the seminar of the university hence they should meet the academic standard of the institute.
Requirements for the application include good command over written and spoken English along with minimum 5 years experience in the Journalism field. Those who meet the criteria would be able to enjoy the opportunities of learning at the International institute, which offers certificate as part of the recognition of the work done, by the end of the research project. This is not a degree based program.
Each year around 25 journalist pursue their interest by becoming part of this fellowship program. The program aims at facilitating the journalists-to-be with more practical exposure, making them able to perform efficiently at work place.The fellowship members would have to take over a topic on their own choice, who will be then guided by their respective supervisors, specialized in the field to produce quality work.
