A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft crashed today near Havelian which is a hilly area in Abbottabad. Earlier it was said that PIA aircraft PK-661 lost contact with air control radar but later it was confirmed that the aircraft have crashed.
The PIA aircraft was carrying 42 passengers and 5 crew members including renowned Pakistani TV presenter and singer Junaid Jamshed was also travelling along with his wife.

Junaid Jamshed was a singer but later left singing and become religious, he hosted Ramadan transmission on ARY Digital.
The aircraft crashed soon after it took off from Chitral, it was travelling towards Islamabad. ISPR have said that it has dispatched troops and helicopters to the crash site for rescue.

PIA spokesman Danyal Gilani also tweeted that the contact was lost with the aircraft and said that emergency response centre has been established.
