Pakistan’s disabled golfer Saleem Raza has emerged as top player in the World Disabled Golf Championship which was played at the Westwood Course in Glasgow, UK in last week. 76 golfers from all European countries participated in the event.
In the first round Saleem collected 31 points, on second day he collected 30 points whereas on third day he aggregated 37 points. Fourth day play was cancelled because of extremely stormy weather.
Saleem Raza while talking to media praised the Pakistan Golf Federation and Punjab Golf Association for giving financial support to him for this event. Saleem added that he is so happy to win this championship and bring honor for Pakistan. He is getting invitations from different events now because of this performance. “I will now move to Sweden to take part in an international event there,” he said.
Scotland’s Kevin Harrison came second and Fleming Rasmuffta of England was third in the World Disabled Golf Championship. The event organizer was happy to see golfer from Pakistan and was pleasantly surprised when he (Saleem) won the Championship.
