Machine readable passports are becoming a requirement to travel around the globe. This has proved helpful against human trafficking and illegal immigration to various parts of the world. The machine readable passport is a secure document that has conformity with ICAD standards, is highly reliable, reduces human intervention, facilitates holders, increases security at the borders and controls transitional crimes.
Machine readable passports will also be issued by the Abu Dhabi embassy as well. The constituent emirates are Abu Dhabi (which serves as the capital), Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain. The fee for ordinary passport is AED 151, while for an urgent passport is AED 251. Fee for 72 pages for normal 5 years is AED 276 and urgent fee is AED 451. Fee for 100 pages normal passport is AED 301 and urgent fee is AED 601. Fee for 36 pages normal 10 years passport is AED 272, while urgent fee is AED 452.
Fee for 72 page passport for 10 years is AED 497, while the urgent fee is AED 812. Fee for 100 pages normal 10 years passport is AED 542, while the urgent fee is AED 1082. Original CNIC is required for passport. In case of children, original computerized registration certificate issued by NADRA or NICOP and the parent’s passport and CNIC copy is required. In case of government servants, an NOC is required.
