Lahore Zoo is one of the largest and oldest zoos in South Asia, which was established in 1872. Know the ticket price, timing and other details about Lahore Zoo.
Forest, Wildlife and Fisheries department is responsible for managing the Zoo which hosts more than 1378 animals and 135 species, making it bigger than Karachi Zoo or Islamabad Zoo.
History:
In 1872 Lal Mahundra Ram, a resident of Lahore, donated a small aviary to the Lahore Municipal Corporation. In early years it remained a small aviary with some collection of birds.
Later it was expanded but remained a small zoo under Lahore Municipal Corporation and then Deputy Commissioner of Lahore. The real expansion of the Zoo came in 1982.
Today you can find 1381 animals of 136 species in the zoo which includes 996 birds of 82 species, 49 reptiles of 08 species and 336 mammals of 45 species.
Timings & Schedule:
The Zoo is open 7 days a week and general public can enter Lahore from 9 AM in the morning till sunset (maghrib). So if you are planning to visit the Zoo then early morning is the best time as there will be fewer people and you can enjoy the visit with your kids and family members.
Ticket Price & Charges:
The entry for children below 3 year, special children and senior citizens who are above 60 year old is free. The entry ticket for other children and adults is as follows:
Adult: Rs. 40
Child: Rs. 20
Students upto 50: Rs. 600
Students upto 100: Rs. 1,000
Parking fees is also applicable for all types of visitors, which is as follows:
Bus: Rs.50
Car: Rs.20
Motorcycle/Rickshaw: Rs.10
Cycle: Rs.5

Lahore Zoo is a state of the art Zoo with all facilities which can expect in a modern Zoo such as:

Lahore zoo is one of boring place today I visit there but I think it was just waste of time .?

In my child hood I visit at zoo of Islamabad. There were lots of birds and animals of different kinds. On the other hand in Lahore zoo there don’t have birds of different kinds.The only bird which is common there is peacock. It was just waste of time.
