Higher Education Department (HED) of Punjab is responsible for proper education services for children and training of staff in public & private institutes. You can become part of HED by applying for the latest jobs available at the department.
The hiring process for HED is same as any other government department. New career opportunities are advertised through leading newspaper of the province after which candidates are asked to apply within 15 days.
Currently no details about current openings are available on official website. The official portal also lacks the facility of applying online hence candidates have only newspaper as a source to know about latest jobs in the department.
The vacancies in HED usually include lecturers, professors, managers & consultants. The job criteria and requirement will differ from one job to another but usually the minimum requirement includes graduation from HEC recognized university.
All jobs are for domicile holders of Punjab and no discrimination is done on the basis of city or region and applicants from all cities such as Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Multan & Gujranwala are appreciated to apply.
Applicants are required to send their application form along with attested copies of required document to the head office of HED within 15 days, no application will be entertained after due date.
After evaluation of application forms the HR will invite shortlisted candidates for written test and interviews. The venue and time of test and interview will be communication by the HR but no T.A/D.A will be given to the candidates.
HED’s network is spread all over the province with one Directorate of Public Instructions Colleges, 9 Divisional Directorate, 37 District Directorates and 690 colleges in Punjab. 9 Boards of intermediate education are working under HED while 40 Public & Private Universities and 26 institutes are operating in the supervision of HED.
As HED Punjab is working hard to spread its network and provide better education facilities it is expected that they may hire new employees to increase their team to support the new projects which are under consideration.
One of the most renowned projects of HED is establishing a knowledge park in Lahore where many international universities will open their campuses. The department has been successful in signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with many international universities.
Punjab Government dedicated an area of 852 acres for the Knowledge Park which they believe will become a hub of learning and innovation not only in Pakistan but for the whole region. They aim to create an environment where research and development becomes the focus paving the way for innovation.
International Book Fair which is held each year in Lahore is also a success of Higher Education Department Punjab where hundreds of publishers participate, including international publishers. Thousands of people especially students take part in the event.
