Indian authorities have banned Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp and other social media sites in Occupied Kashmir claiming that these sites are being used by anti-state elements.
After the martyrdom of Kashmiri fighter Burhan Wani India is facing a renewed uprising in Kashmir Valley where it has deployed more than 500,000 armed forces. Last week students from different schools and colleges erupted in protests after Indian authorities raided a college to arrest some student.
Indian Government closed down the education institutes for one week but after reopening of schools and colleges protests were again held in many areas.

Blocking mobile service in occupied Kashmir is a norm, during past five years internet services were blocked for 28 times, once for more than 5 months.
The protests after Burhan Wani have resulted in deaths of 84 civilians, while more than 12,000 protestors were injured because of heavy force used by Indian forces such as Pellet guns.
