A new study by World Health Organization has revealed that increased belly means greater risk of cancer, including bowel, breast and pancreatic cancer.
Increase of 11 centimeters to the waistline will increase the risk of cancer by 13%. If your hips increase by 8 cm then the risk of cancer is increased by 15%.
Fat people have more fat in their body which is linked with change in hormones, testosterone, increased insulin and inflammation. All these are linked with greater risk of cancer.
The research was done by International Agency for Research on Cancer which is a specialized center for cancer related research and recommendations which is an agency of WHO.
They study was based on observation of 43,000 people for a period of 12 years, this study was published in British Journal of Cancer which is known for leading research articles on the topic. So if your weight is increasing then you are at higher risk of cancer.
