The IDEAS 2014 will be held at Expo Centre Karachi from the 1st to the 4rth of December 2o14. This event is attended by several foreign dignitaries from abroad. Hence to the public’s dismay, some of the roads nears Civic centre will be blocked. It is advised, that the public should adopt an alternative, if possible, to commute in these days as to avoid any inconvenience.
According to the traffic police of Karachi, the heavy traffic going from Karachi airport to the Stadium through Karsaz will be diverted towards the Baloch Colony Bridge. Vehicles can go towards the Tipu Sultan Bridge after taking a U-turn. This will connect them to the Shaheed-e-millat road, jail chowrangi and the university road. Heavy traffic commuting from Gharibabad to Karsaz will be diverted before Hassan Square Flyover towards the University Road. This will also connect the traffic with the Jafari optics, KDA Society, National Stadium backside, Dalmia, Stadium Road to Karsaz and onwards.
Traffic commuting from NIPA towards Hassan Square, Civic Centre will be diverted from Jafari optics towards KDA Society, Stadium Road and then towards Agha Khan Hospital after passing the steel yard cut. Traffic commuting from Sohrab Goth towards the city area should use the alternate Shahrah-e-Pakistan route and Sher Shah Soori route. The traffic commuting from the University road shall use the NIPA Rashid Minhas Road.
Parking will not be allowed in areas around the Expo Centre. This area will include the Sir Shah Mohammad Suleiman Road Stadium Crossing to Hassan Square and Hassan Square to Bait-ul-Mukarram Mosque. The Stadium road will be opened for vehicles commuting to IDEAS 2014. The road connecting Hassan Square with Stadium Intersection will be temporarily be closed during these days from 8AM till 6PM.
