New Delhi: The off spinner bowler Saeed Ajmal has said that his inexplicable bowling performance in 2012 Asia Cup gave tough time to the legendary Indian batsman, Sachin Tendulkar forcing him to get retirement from One-day-Internationals. Giving an interview to Indian media in a friendly tone praising Sachin’s batting said that he is a super star and hence he is known as the world class batsman.
Referring to the last semi-final World Cup held between the two arch rivals, the bowler famous for his bowling capabilities said that sending back a batsman back to the pavilion that holds record of making 50,000 runs is a pride for him.
In full confidence the spinner said that Tendulkar who is considered as the greatest Test batsman of all time looked puzzled with his ‘doors’. ‘It was the last one day Asia Cup that he played and in the same match he became victim of my bowling attack’.
Sharing the strategy to adopt the 40 aged world class batsman, Ajmal spoke that the Pakistan team captain Misbah-ul-Haq had decided of pluming him out on catch slip. Younus Khan, agreed to take the position he further said. It can be called mere a co-incidence that Tendulkar retired from one-day cricket after this match. In the last one-day match of the career Tendulkar made 52 runs on 48 deliveries.
