Kochi: Indian extremist body Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has urged the Hindu community to increase the birth rates, owing to the fear of the increasing Muslim population in the country. Dattatreya Hosabale, Joint General Secretary of RSS has said that people should give up the family planning thought. Each family should bear at least 3 children, he spoke.
According to him the appeal has been made to balance the residing population of Hindus and Muslims in the society. Since, it is likely that Muslims population might increase over the time.
Dattatreya Hosabale is reported to have said that the declined fertility in Hindu families has resulted in problems to hire Hindu men in armies. Hindus have stuck themselves with the western concept of family planning that is restricting the reproduction process While Muslims’ population is increasing eventually, He Argued.
It is pertinent here to mention that it is not for the first time that such appeal has been made by the RSS representative, but another Hindu extremist leader Narendra Modi had also urged the Hindu community for increasing the population. Modi said that each family should bear at least 5 children.
