ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has heard today the Islamabad sit-in case in which Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) has raised 13 questions in response to the answers, submitted concerning the sit-in case. These questions will be discussed tomorrow.
According to sources, PAT asked, ‘’what is the legal status of the federal government after rigging in the elections? Is there an accountability system in political parties and government institutions? Should those, who bring accused to book, not perform their duties? Didn’t the governments fail to provide the facilities of education, health and justice in 41 years? Did the government fulfill its promises with the public which it made on the name of democracy? Doesn’t it lack of good governance in present system? Isn’t the country being looted on the name of national institutions and privatization of assets? Isn’t the government violating the court’s orders in appointing the heads of the institutions? Isn’t the government exploiting the public? Haven’t the sitting and the previous governments failed to enforce basic rights of the nation? Is the government successful in providing career opportunities for educated and skilful men and providing security to their lives and averting the terrorism? These questions will be discussed tomorrow whereas the Supreme Court has issued notices to the parties in this regards.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have staged sit-ins in Islamabad against the sitting government accusing that the government has come into powers after massive rigging in the elections.
