Lahore: Many groups in Pakistan are trying their best to make Islamic Republic of Pakistan a secular country and this though has also entered in our educational institutions. A recent example of this propaganda arises when Government College University Lahore has refused to give admission to a talented female student just because of her Hijab.
According to the media reports, a student named Mehreen Shafaq got her admission in GC University Lahore but during her interview, the administration asked her to take off her Hijab. Mehreen Shafaq refused to fulfill the foolish requirement of the administration and for this; she has not given admission in GC University, Lahore.
Mehreen Shafaq filed an application in the Lahore High Court, in which she has written that the GC University has not given her admission due to her Hijab. She has also written that it is her constitutional right to wear a dress of her own choice. She also revealed that the administration has forced her to take off her Hijab.
On Tuesday, hearing of this case held in Lahore high Court in which the court has issued notices to both the GC University Lahore and Higher Education Commission (HEC) and asked for their answer on the next hearing, on 10th September.
