ISLAMABAD: Earthquake jolted various cities in Pakistan including Khyber Pakhtunkwa and Punjab due to which over 50 people were injured in Peshawar and other cities. According to a local newspaper, jolts of intense earthquake were felt in the Federal capital Islamabad including upper and lowland areas, Kasur, Sahewal, Lahore, Hafizabad, Pindi Bhattian, Jalalpur Bhattian, Sawat, Abbotabad, Peshawar, Mansehra, Cheniot, Shaikhupura, Bheera, Multan, Deerbala, Sialkot, Narowal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Muzaffarabad, Hattianbala, Nelum, Bagh, Rawalakot and Gilgit Baltistan.
No sooner did the earthquake jolt, people took out of their homes and panic spread among them. In the result of intense earthquake, 43 people were injured in various areas of Peshawar who were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. On the other hand, 4 people in Charsadda and 8 people in Hangu were reported to be injured.
A foreign news agency has reported that according to US Geological survey, the intensity of earthquake was recorded 6.2 on rector scale. The news agency told that the depth of earthquake was 203 kilometer under the earth whereas its centre was Faizabad, an Afghan area.
