Islamabad: During hearing of Two member bench of Supreme Court, Chairman Pakistan Railways Javed Iqbal admitted that the scrape of Pak Railway was sold on 28 thousand rupees per matric ton instead of its real price of 5 lac rupees per matric ton, adding that a bulb worth of 7 rupees was purchased on 400 rupees per item.
Chief Justice, in his remarks, said that the culture of paying bribe for legal work if getting popular in Pakistan Railways. CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry also said that railway authorities are liable to criminal negligence for taking proper measure for restoration of 500 engines after dumping.
