Karachi: The Nationalist parties of Sindh including Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) along with the Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) have called for a shutter down strike across the province on September 13 in protest against the new Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance, media reports said.
According to the reports, the Nationalist groups in Sindh announced to observe the strike on Thursday during a meeting of the Sindh Bachao Committee at the residence of Jalal Mehmood Shah, where more than twenty nationalist parties of Sindh were present.
All the parties have reached consent to reject the new system imposed upon the people of Sindh on the demand of only one party which is actually a conspiracy to divide Sindh, they expressed.
Meanwhile, Awami National Party (ANP) has also announced to support the strike called by Nationalist groups on September 13 appealing the Pakhtoon people living in Sindh as well as traders, transporters, students, civil society and the people from different aspects of life to make the strike successful.
On the other hand, The MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has severely criticized nationalist parties for opposing the new local government ordinance in Sindh and asked the people of Sindh to boycott the strike called by the ‘enemies of Democracy’.
