Perth: Australia has dominated the first ODI against West Indies. Australian bowlers surprised the good West Indian batting line-up and with excellent bowling by young pace man MA Starc. The Kangaroos restricted the opponent to score of just 71 in the 24th over with top score of 16 by the captain Darren Sammy. The West Indian team and fans were shocked with the poor batting performance.
Australia came down to chase a target of 71 in their allotted 50 overs but the Kangaroos were in hurry and reached the target in the 10th over, with a devastating knock of 51 runs GJ Maxwell who opened the batting. Maxwell scored just 3 run running, rest came from the boundaries, he hit 9 fours and 2 sixes for his fifty.
Australia won the 1st ODI with 9 wickets stunning the T20 champions, MA Starc was named as player of the match for his outstanding bowling. The next match of the five-match series will be played on Sunday 3rd February.
