LONDON: The chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Altaf Hussain once again has retreated from his words that he is going to abdicate or renounce the party’s leadership. While addressing to his party workers, Altaf Hussain said that all of you had to accept or agree with his decisions, adding that he was accepting party workers’ request for the last time and not abdicating the leadership of MQM.
Altaf Hussain said that Pakistan had a lot of problems and these problems had to be coped with. He demanded of the government and the establishment to let all the TV channels be working. Altaf Hussain retreated from party’s leadership late night and announced to handover all the responsibilities of the party to Rabita Committee.
It is pertinent to mention here that the chief of MQM Mr Altaf Hussain had been announcing to leave the leadership of the party in past as well but the party workers all the time requested him to retreat from his decision to quit the leadership.
On 4th of September 2014, Altaf Hussain made a gesture to quit the leadership of MQM as saying that they should find a man who could handle Rabita Committee, form more committees adding that the responsible persons were making decisions of their wishes.
On 30th of June 2013, Altaf Hussain voluntarily announced to quit the leadership of the party. He said that Scotland Yard and Metropolitan police of London raided on his home and carried many things from home.
He asked party workers for the advice to leave the leadership of the party on December 17, 2012 when Supreme Court issued contempt of court notice to Altaf Hussain. He asked whether he should quit the leadership but the party workers and supporters did not let him leave. Likewise, he had been announcing to leave the leadership in the past but all the times, he took his decisions back on the request of his party workers.
