A European Country Albania’s old ritual is that if a family who do not have a male child, their elder daughter becomes a man for inheritance. This elder female becomes man by changing her name, her lifestyle to same as that of men. Before this there was a ritual that the families who do not have a male child their female children were deprived of legacy.
In the 15th centaury a man changed this ritual; he replaced it with another one. This ritual is still being practiced in Albania that the elder daughter of the family becomes a man and do all the things a male of the family is responsible of from changing the name to clothes and everything.
All the heritage of the family is being transferred to this elder female who has become a male. She also does not get married and spends all of her life alone and such women are being called as Bornisha. This cruel ritual or law was however, banned by Albanian government by still it is widely being practiced in Northern parts of the country.
If a girl rejects to do so she is being badly tortured by family members. 81-year-old Hijari is also among such female who was forced to become a man by the cruel ritual of Albania.
