Karachi: Mutahhida Qaumi Movement (MQM) gave 3 days ultimatum to the ruling party Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) regarding the Local Government Ordinance. The coordination committee of MQM arranged an emergency meeting and issue of local government ordinance was discussed. After the meeting, the senior members of the coordination committee gave the ultimatum and added that MQM will leave the benches for the opposition if their demands will not be considered.
It was noted in the meeting that MQM has always given every possible support to the ruling party and President Asif Ali Zardari for the continuity of a stable democracy in the country. But in response the Pakistan Peoples Party despite assurances has never fulfilled the valid demands of MQM which are related to the public welfare. It was also decided in the meeting that MQM will support the legal actions of the government even in the opposition.
The. Coordination committee of the MQM has requested its workers and voters to wait for the further line of action and remain unite in these circumstances. The committee further interpreted that MQM will take the future steps as per the guidance of the founder and leader of the party Altaf Hussain.
