Khairpur: A three day long, 191st annual Urs of sufi saint and Sindhi poet Sachal Sarmast has started from today (August 3, 2012) at Daraza Sharif town, 50 kilometers away from Khairpur city.
However, the ceremony was inaugurated yesterday with a floral wreath laid by Sajaada Nasheen of shrine Dr. Sakhi Qabool Muhammad Farooqi.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah laid floral wreath at the Mazar on the first day of the three-day Urs celebrations which begins today.
The Sindh government has announced a holiday in Khairpur today on the occasion of the 191st Urs of Hazrat Sachal Sarmast, Deputy Commissioner of Khairpur, Muhammed Abbas Baloch, stated on Thursday.
