Islamabad: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain and the deputy convener of the party’s Rabita Committee Dr Farooq Satta was issued a contempt of court notice by the Supreme Court today. Both the political leaders have been summoned by the apex court on 7th January. SC bench also directed the foreign ministry on this to ensure that notice was implemented.
The Karachi unrest case was being heard by a three-judge bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, the bench issued the contempt of court notice under Article 204 of the Constitution and Section 3 of the Contempt of Court law.
On 2nd December Altaf Hussain who live in London termed the apex court judges remarks as unconstitutional and undemocratic regarding fresh delimitation of constituencies in Karachi. MQM chief during telephonic conference with public at the Jinnah Ground in Azizabad said that the residents of city will never allow such type of conspiracies (delimitation) to be succeeded.
