The Government has started the Youth Skill Development Program under the authority of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC). This program is aimed towards creating a skilled work force to meet the demands of the small, medium and large scale industries of Pakistan and improve the employment prospects for the youth of the country and Registrations for the Youth Skill Development Program have started.
The prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development program will provide Skill development training to 25000 unemployed youth across the country of which 35% wil be girls. The training will be offered at 350 Public and Private Instituitons across the country in selected demand driven trades to ensure maximum chances of employment after training.
The Youth Skill Development program will be of a 4 to 6 month duration in which one month will be allocated for on- job training which will provide valuable experience for the trainees. A monthly stipend of Rs 2000 will be provided to the trainees and Rs 3000 will be provided for FATA trainees. Free Trade tool kits will also be provided in some of the trade programs.
