A study conducted by researchers at University of California revealed that Yoga can improve memory especially among old aged people.
The study was based on 25 people who were suffering from mild cognitive impairment and all aged 55 or over. It was found that Yoga improved verbal and visual-spatial memory. Yoga also decreased their depression and anxiety. While the group which performed brain training only saw improvement in verbal memory.

Previously it was known that yoga helps physical heath, it was also believed that it helped in reducing depression and relaxing the mood but the impact on memory and brain was not known.
The group was involved in Kundalini yoga weekly and was also asked to perform 20 minutes mediation at home daily. But the study is also facing criticism because the study cell consisting of 25 people was too small to claim anything
