Pakistan regular Test wicket-keeper Adnan Akmal has been dropped from the Pakistan cricket team squad for the upcoming South African tour. Pakistan cricket team selectors have also not given any solid reason as why Adnan Akmal has been dropped from Pakistan team.
Adnan who has remained wicket-keeper in the previous 11 consecutive Tests can be dropped from team either on fitness problem or on discipline grounds. But his fitness look good as he last played his first class match from 8th January to 11th January. There is also no news of discipline problem of Adnan Akmal. He has even performed superbly in the last three first class matches which he has played. His last three First Class scores are: 85, 86* and 71 runs. He is captain Lahore Ravi in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
Wicket-keeper Sarfaraz Ahmed from Karachi has been picked in the Pakistan squad but his performance in the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy is below par as he has failed to score any fifty in last three innings. Players should be picked on merit if Pakistan Cricket Board wants Green shirts to progress at the international level.
