Book Donation trend is not new in Pakistan but still we don’t see any leading organization regarding this. In fact people who want to donate their course and literature books hardly find any NGO. A large amount of passed school, college and university students sale their precious book to scrap collectors. Then these books use in bread making shops, hotels, Pan Stalls and other shops.
Some students’ sale used books to book shops in 25% rate of original cost. This option is much better as compare to selling books for trash purpose. Shop keepers’ sale these books on 50-60% of new book price. It means if a new book price is 100 rupees, the same book in used condition is also available in 50-60 rupees.
Third category of students give books to younger siblings or friends But a very less percent of students decide to donate their books. And when they search for any NGO or such foundation which collects books, they rarely find anyone.
Same scene in all over Pakistani even in metropolitan city Karachi, people are unaware about free book contribution. Some organizations are trying to spread their message and they are working for this great cause.
