Mohammad Irfan is a Pakistani cricketer serving the national squad. He serves his team as a fast bowler with a height of 2.16 meters (7 foot 1 inch). Height is one of the assets for Mohammad Irfan, as it is an additional benefit for his bowling position. He could be the tallest cricketer in the current scenario and his height is more than his idol Joel Garner. He belongs to the eastern part of Pakistan, from the town of Gaggu mandi. Gaggu Mandi is also the home town of Mohammad Zahid, who was also a tall cricketer.
Mohammad Irfan possessed the talent and the passion to play cricket from a very young age, but his morale was extinguished when his town didn’t provide him with the support to shine in the international cricket scene. Forced by poverty in his area, he began working in a plastic pipe factory of his town to support his family. He was playing in the club cricket meanwhile, when Aaqib Javed called him for the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. He was able to impress Aaqib Javed by his talent and he was soon promoted to first-class cricket for Khan Research Laboratories.
Irfan took nine wickets in his second game and was able to snatch 43 wickets by the end of the season. He was almost selected for the national team, as a replacement for an injured player in the Twenty20 2010 world cup, but his name was dropped. He continued to play in the domestic cricket, when in 2012 he was chosen for the limited over series in India. He bowled at a speed of more than 140kph.
