Every father wants a better future for his daughter and this is the reason why most of the young men in Indian village of Shri Tara Majra are still unmarried. There are dozens of bachelors who are willing to get married but can’t find suitable partner, this is why it is being called ‘village of bachelors’ .
Girls reject the proposals because they know that there is no electricity in the village and finding drinkable water is also a source of concern. Getting married to a man in this area means hard life and no one wants to live such miserable life.
There are around 50 bachelors waiting for a miracle to happen. Many are thinking of shifting t nearby towns but poverty means only few will be able to do so.
The whole village population of about 1,000 depends on a single hand pump because the level of water is too low. Many residents who were able to afford another house had left the village while others are willing to do so.
