US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter has met Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir in Islamabad on Monday at the Foreign Ministry and discussed the current situation arising after the US officials against Pakistan.
According to the sources of foreign office Salman Bashir clearly informed the US ambassador that the US allegations against Pakistan in media are harming the war against terrorism.
Salman Bashir informed Cameron Munter about the position of Pakistan after the US allegations, adding that US instead of using the forums at intelligence and military level started leveling allegations in media, adding that these allegations would harm the bilateral relations between the two countries.
He asked the US ambassador to use diplomatic forums for discussing the matters present between the two countries.
According to the sources both the personalities discussed the ways and means to cool down the existing temperature regarding the relations between Pakistan and US.
The meeting between the two personalities continued for more than three hours.
Talking to a private TV channel after the meeting the Spokespersons of the Foreign Office Tehmina Janjua said that US ambassador and Salman Bashir agreed to continue the working relationship between the two countries in future and continue working jointly.
Meanwhile the meeting comes as ties between both the two allies are on a downward spiral following the US accusations of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) being linked with the Haqqani Network US blames for attack on its embassy in Kabul.
Pakistan has dismissed the US accusations and said these would only worsen the relationship between the two countries. (SANA)
