The Gujranwala Anti Terrorism Court has sentenced seven people to death; six have been awarded life terms in last year’s Sialkot lynching case. 3 year jail has also been awarded to DPO Waqar Chaohan and the policemen involved n the case. ATC Court verdict also sentences Five people were also freed. The convicted people have been fined 150000 rupees.
On 15th August 2010 two young boys Muneeb and Mughees were beaten to death by a mob in Sialkot, with police failing to protect the boys.
The court also acquitted five people. The convicted people have been fined Rs150000.
Mughees and Muneeb’s family thanked Chief Justice of Pakistan and also said that they are satisfied with the verdict.
