Karachi: Additional IG Traffic, Ghulam Qadir Thebo has announced of banning the motorcycle rickshaws in the financial hub city, Karachi. The decision taken by the traffic officials was declared after the disclosure that stolen bikes are used for running the motorcycle rickshaws.
The IG traffic said that the drivers are warned to not to take to street the vehicles or otherwise they would face be held up by the police for violating the command. He further said that the rickshaws also add up in trafficking jams and hence there mobility had to be restricted. After the announcement of the commandment, the traffic police have begun to track down the drivers and the rickshaws.
On a busy road, with automobiles at various speeds, happening of such damages can lead to serious accidents, thus affecting not only the driver but also letting the passengers and others into hot water.
These problems remain true but it can also not be denied that these transporting vehicles had immensely emerged as business to the local drivers. The office, school, university going students, males and females find the vehicle a convenient way of moving with fare less than that of the buses. They are readily available and have space while for buses one has to wait for long hours and sometimes travel by standing and suffocating among the crowded people.
