KARACHI: A faction of traders is striking today in various cities against withholding tax due to which business life is suspended. According to a local newspaper, a faction of traders is striking against withholding tax in Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well as other cities whereas the other faction will keep close the business on August 5.
Sindh Tajir Ittehad has favored the strike in Karachi whereas Traders’ Action Committee has decided not to strike today. Sindh Tajir Ittehad has said that all commercial and business centers will stay shut today in Sindh, adding that the withholding tax imposed forcibly by the government will not be accepted at all.
A faction of Anjuman-e-Tajiran is also striking today in Lahore whereas the other faction will strike on August 5. All commercial and business centers are closed in Lahore and other areas. The traders are also striking in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa due to which public is facing difficulty.
