KARACHI: Three ranger officials have been killed in an attack in Karachi. According to details, terrorists started firing at the mobile of rangers due to which three ranger officials were killed whereas one ranger official was injured in the attack.
According to Dawn news, the incident took place in the area of Baldia Ittihad Town where terrorists targeted rangers’ mobile. The ranger officials were producing security to Horaira mosque on the occasion of Friday prayer.
DIG West Fairoz Shah has said that two accused riding a motor cycle fired at the rangers’ mobile and fled away. Director General of Sindh rangers Major General Bilal Akbar has said that there were eight ranger officials at the time of the attack who were producing security to the mosque.
Major General Bilal Akbar said that the attackers possibly wanted to target the mosque who attacked on the ranger officials after being stopped. He said that the investigation of the attack has been started, adding that the attackers and their facilitators would soon be arrested.
The ranger officials who were martyred have been identified as Ishtiaq, Qasim and Akhtar whereas Shahadat was injured in the attack. Heavy contingents of police and rangers reached at the site of the attack and started search operation by cordoning off the area.
