The economic, political and social condition of Pakistan is getting worse day after day. We hear these discussions everywhere. From TV anchors to students everybody is talking about the problems faced by Pakistan. Starting from poverty, unemployment and illiteracy rate to threats faced by terrorist. Majority of people believe that things will automatically change. And those who want to change things, don’t know what to do.
Problems and solutions are rooted in the system that governs a society. It is the system, and not merely the people, that runs a society. “Islamic republic of Pakistan” is ruled by “democratic system”. The essence of democratic system can be summarized in a single line as “Rule of the people, for the people, by the people.” On examining the reality we find that democracy involves several men and women, discussing their desires and imposing the view of the strongest or most financially dominant amongst them, on the nation. Parliament consists of richest people on land, who are the true “capitalists”
As far as dictatorship is concerned, it has the same fundamental weakness. Dictatorship involves one man imposing his whims on a nation, while democracy involves some men imposing their desires on whole nation.
“Democracy consists of choosing your dictator, after they have told you what you think it is you want to hear” (Alan Coren)
In both these systems man-made laws that come from human mind govern the society. Man has a limited wisdom and laws made by man are flawed. It is human manipulated rule that has inflicted people with RGST, pumping out the blood of a common man and inflating the prices of basic necessities. It is man-made rule that makes certain that the Pakistani administration can prolong to approve drone assaults on its own people. It is man-made rule that permits leading nations to abuse the people in developing and under developing world, implementing economic policies that have led to widespread poverty, famine and a huge gap between rich and poor. In brief, individual’s intellect must not be utilized as the source of our laws.
The Holy Quran was revealed as the comprehensive source of law for Muslims.
“And We have revealed unto you the Book as a clear explanation for everything, as a mercy and glad tidings to the Muslims” (Al-Nahl 16:89).
Today, the single answer for all our troubles is execution of Islamic laws. Islam demolishes price rises by minimizing taxes and privatization of civic resources including oil, gas, petroleum, electricity, water supply, minerals etc. A Muslim leader is not allowed to inflict taxes on these resources. He generates money for state by increasing exports. In order to boost exports, he needs to launch new industries which provide more employment opportunities. Accordingly, the financial state of Islamic Khilafat is raised. Fundamental learning is free of charge in Islamic state.
The 1300 years of Islamic history saw the implementation of laws derived from Quran and Sunnah. We see the practical results of the implementation of Islam through the study of records of Islamic state. This shows us that we did not have the crime rates we see today. Neither was there poverty in lands ruled by Islam. Africa used to provide grain for whole Muslim Ummah. Education and an advanced healthcare system were available for all. The Muslims were for thousand years at the forefront of technology, mathematics, science, agriculture, astronomy and more.
The high time is today for Muslims of Pakistan to reorient themselves with the power of Islam.
