Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has demanded of the provincial government to immediately withdraw extra taxes imposed in the health and education sectors. In a statement issued here on Saturday, Hafiz Naeem strongly condemned the imposition of extra taxes in health and education sectors in the recent budget 2014-15.
He said that the government instead of resolving problems of the common men, busy in enjoying perks and luxuries of the government. He further said that the provision of basic facilities to the people was a core responsibility of the government, however; the government has put an extra burden on the people in term of increasing taxes on diagnostic and medical services.
“The government should take steps in order to withdraw the extra taxes on medical and education services”, he added. Not only Jamaat e Islami, Many Political Parties are against these taxes but government hasn’t taken back this decision.
