Karachi: According to reports, the current president of the Pakistan Table Tennis Federation (PTTF), S.M Sibtain is set to step down and the foremost name to replace him is of Doctor Syed Imran Ali Shah. Dr Syed Imran Ali Shah is an Orthopaedic doctor by profession and is expected to take over responsibilities some time later this year.
His predecessor S.M Sibtain had requested the general council of the PTTF select a new president by consensus and free him of his responsibilities. S.M Sibtain had been associated with Table Tennis for more than forty year in different roles and he decided that he had played his role and now was the time to let someone else take over.
A special general council of the PTTF was held at Dr. Syed Imran Ali Shah’s residence which passed a resolution naming him as the successor to S.M Sibtain. S.M Sibtain’s services were also acknowledged and he was made an honorary life president of the PTTF and his name will also be recommended for the International Table Tennis Federation performance award.
