Start eating strawberries and blueberries if you don’t want to have a heart attack because eating strawberries can reduce the risk of heart related problems by more than 30%.
Strawberries contain Anthocyanins which is a powerful antioxidant which prevents plaque buildup in veins and arteries. Anthocyanin also helps in controlling blood pressure which reduces the risk of heart attack.
But studies were based on consumption of fresh strawberries because they are rich in flavonoids which positively engage with phytochemicals in our body. Frozen and packaged strawberries are not effective as fresh fruits.
There are many vegetables that are also rich in Anthocyanins such as eggplants, cabbage and red leaf lettuce. So also eat these vegetables to increase your intake of Anthocyanins.
But remember that anything eaten in excessive amount is harmful for our health, even fruits because they contain fluctose which if consumed in excess causes harm to our health.
