Karachi: Solar panels are being installed on roads of Karachi which will be connected with street lights. The government has started to install these solar lights on various round-abouts of the city. On Sakhi Hassan round-about in Karachi about 16 solar lights have been installed. According to engineers this technology will save both money and electricity.
City Management of Karachi is now installing solar lights in various round-abouts, and also has decided to run the road lights of city by the help of solar energy. According to engineers this is the most effective way to save electricity and money both.
Sakhi Hassan round-about is the first from where this project has been started. According to management after Sakhi Hassan other round-abouts and road lights will also be converted into solar lights.

On this round-about electricity load was 20,000 watt but by using solar energy the place will be lightened by using only 320 watts. Solar lights will be free of load-shedding and will keep on working continuously. In a time period of 1 month, lights of 4 more round-abouts will be converted to solar lights.
