Social Media has connected the world in an unseen manner, anyone from any part of the world can see their loved ones without any headache. It is said that social media has made the world a global village in a true sense.
But researchers are astonished to see how much time is being spent on different social media sites. In 2016 each individual spend 2 hours on social media while in 2012 each individual spent 1.5 hours.
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr have been successful in providing entertainment and connecting people but as a side affect they have also affected the psychology of their users. Youth are now more concerned about how many likes they get on their picture rather than who much marks they get in their research paper.
The sites on internet which provide scientific knowledge gets few click and on average user spend far less time than on social media sites.
