Lahore: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, has said that the country at present was under the siege of the enemy which had attacked our ideology and values and the Ulema and the Khatibs should start a vigorous campaign against that. Addressing the ceremony marking the conclusion of the lessons from the Bukhari Sharif, at Mansoora mosque, he said that the mosques and the Madrassah were the custodians of the country’s ideological boundaries, as none of the Ulema had supported the forces against Islam and Pakistan.
He said that over two million students were receiving religious education at the Madrassah all over the country, and the government should patronize them and allocate budget for the Madrassah for the benefit of the teachers and the students.
The JI chief also stressed upon the Ulema to create awareness among the masses about a tiny elite that had ruled the country for the last 65 years and had been carrying on tyranny and exploitation and plunder of the public wealth, thus plunging the country into a mire of socio-economic problems including price hike, load shedding, Lawlessness.
Sirajul Haq said that those responsible for the carnage of the Muslims in India were trying to frighten the Pakistanis on the likelihood of Narendra Modi’s becoming India’s next Prime Minister. “I want to tell India and her allies that we trust more in Allah Almighty than the nuclear bomb and we believe that India can’t harm Pakistan in any manner.” On the other hand, he said that with Narendra Modi becoming Prime Minister of India, the Indian Muslims would unite and defend themselves more effectively,
Later talking to newsmen, Sirajul Haq said that none of the political parties including the PTI wanted an end to democratic rule to pave way for martial law or dictatorial rule. He said that the JI also wanted reforms in the election system; however, it won’t be a party to any movement that could harm the democratic order. He said the electoral reforms were also in the interest of the ruling party.
To a question about polio vaccination campaign in the Khyber P, Sirajul Haq said that the campaign was continuing and it was wrong that the Ulema were against the campaign. He said that in order to falsify this impression, Maulana Samiul Haq had personally begun the campaign from his Madrassah at Akora Khattak.
Ch. Muhammad Aslam Saleemi, Maulana Abdul Malik, and Dr Aslam Saleemi also spoke on the occasion, and gave away certificates and prizes to the graduating students.
