Lahore: As many as five hundred Sikh pilgrims will reach the historical city tomorrow to celebrate the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh on 21st June.
The main event would be held here at Dera Sahib on June 29 during a 10-day stay of the yatrees while the pilgrims would return on 30th June, said Deputy Secretary Shrines Syed Faraz Abbas.
Full proof security arrangements have been made for the arrival of Sikh Pilgrims here in Pakistan and they will be provided with all the necessary requirements, officials told.
It is to mention here that Maharaja Ranjit Singh was the first Maharaja of the Sikh Empire. He was born in Gujranwala into a Jatt family. He is also called Sher-e-Punjab (Lion of Punjab), Maharaja of Lahore, Sarkar Khalsaji (Head of State), Napoleon of Eastand Lord of Five Rivers by his followers.
