According to media reports Shahrukh Khan starrer ‘Chennai Express’ and Akhsay Kumar starrer ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Again – 2’ will not be released in Pakistan on Eid Day (8th August, 2013).
Distributors and exhibitors in Pakistan have decided not to release these films and instead four Pakistanis films will be released on this Eid. ‘Mein Hoon Shahid Afridi‘ which is made by Humayun Saeed, Josh (starring Amina Sheikh and his huband Mohib Mirza), ‘Ishq Khuda’ and ‘Waar’ will be released. Indian producers are not happy with this black out of Indian films as it will cause around Rs. 200 million losses.
However there are chances that both the films will be released on 15th August, a week later but piracy would certainly reduce the revenue of both films. A large section of people in Pakistan have always protested against screening of Indian films in Pakistan. Pakistan legend actor Nadeem also criticsed screening of Indian films and was of the view that it is against Pakistan’s culture.
