Shahid Afridi has gained a lot of fame, wealth and respect playing for the Pakistan cricket team over a long period of time. He is arguably the most popular cricketer of his generation and is adored by the Pakistani people. Shahid Afridi is now trying to help his people in return by establishing a hospital in his ancestral village of Tangi Banda.
Shahid Afridi provided Rs 16 million for the hospital whose construction has been recently completed. Treatment and medicine would be provided free of cost at the hospital for poor people. According to Afridi’s Uncle Sahibzada Fazle Khaliq the hospital was a gift from Shahid Afridi for his home village and would be inaugurated soon.
Shahid Afridi has always strived to make a difference whether it is in cricket or in life. His hospital is being constructed by the Shahid Afridi Foundation which was set up with an aim of bringing health care and education to communities that needed them.
It had always been a wish of his father to build a hospital in his home town and Shahid Afridi has just managed to fulfill it. He has dedicated the hospital to his late father. The purchase of medicines had been completed and arrangements have been made to hire doctors for the hospital which will begin operations soon.
