Propagating through wrong news item has been a common practice by the media channels. Such news item appeared when an Indian website “Deccan Herald” published wrong story on the website. The girl pictured is Samiya Siddiqui who is a daughter of Mian Siddiqui, man of Lahore.
False news item has had been widely circulated at the social websites after the Indian website released the news stating her to be niece of the present Prime Minister, Mian Nawaz Sharif.
The Indian created news story was shared on Islamic, patriotic and few pages named by the political parties. This was a deliberate against civilian leadership. It was an attempt to defame the political figures in the eyes of the masses.
Such a thing to do is utterly disgusting. Every individual, media has the right to criticize but making each other target through false based news items and circulating it widely is unacceptable. Many people believed the news story to be true and followed it. However, after some time ‘Deccan Herald’ itself removed the news story.
Our religion also instructs us to scrutinize any news or hearing that one comes across. Believing unauthentic news can stir ill-feelings and conflicts. Meanwhile, re-known journalist and program host of Islamabad Tonight at Aaj TV Nadeem Malik also tweeted, calling the news item false.
