LAHORE: Former president of Supreme Court Bar Association and senior leader of Pakistan People’s Party Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan has said that Chief Minister Punjab used hard words in his speech, adding that the change which PML-N wants is not possible. He said that the constitutional change of president can only be possible through parliament.
Aitzaz Ahsan while talking to media on the occasion of casting vote in elections of Supreme Court Bar Association said that the tone of rally was most bitter and hard, adding that there is not any constitutional restriction to talk against president; however the change in constitution has become imperative after CM speech. He said that the elected members of National Assembly and provincial assemblies have been restricted to talk against Pak army and Judiciary in constitution.
Aitzaz said that in my opinion amendment should be done in the constitution and it should also implemented on civil departments but there is no any restriction regarding the criticism on president; adding that there is also need to make law on speeches that against CM, PM and elected president. He said that the members of PPP usually adopt polite attitude but some sometimes few PPP members also loose temper.
He said that the president PML-N Nawaz Sharif should take notice of the Shahbaz langue used against the president of the country. He said that the statements of Shahbaz would not harm the democratic system, adding that I my opinion the government would complete the constitutional term.
