KARACHI: Ex-member of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and death row prisoner, 47-years old Saulat Mirza has been executed in Mach Jail of Baluchistan. According to sources, the death body of Saulat Mirza has been handed over to his family after the execution which will be shifted to Karachi by air from Quetta.
Saulat Mirza, who was imprisoned and waiting for his execution in Mach Jail of Baluchistan, was made his last meeting with his family members and relatives on Monday afternoon. Special court of anti-terrorism had issued death warrants of Saulat Mirza last week. It was the third time that his death warrants were issued.
It is pertinent to mention here that his death sentence was put off on 19th March for the first time and the second time his death penalty was delayed on 1st April. The wife and the sister of Saulat Mirza made pleas to Supreme Court and Sindh High Court to stop Mirza’s execution but the courts rejected their please and maintained Mirza’s death sentence.
Saulat Mirza confessed that he killed KESC’s MD Shahid Hamid, his guard and driver on the orders of MQM’s leadership. He gave a video statement from Mach Jail and disclosed some secrets against MQM’s leadership that stirred in the country and his death sentence was put off.
